Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers
Football Season is upon us and that means alllllll of the delicious appetizers and snacks come out. It is the perfect time to whip together little appies throughout the games instead of large heavy meals. These Jalapeno Poppers are simple and a crowd favorite at our draft parties (thanks dad for making these delicious treats!). As long as you remove the majority of the seeds it isn’t too spicy.
Serving Size: 24 Poppers
Ingredients
12 Medium Jalapenos, sliced length wise and seeds removed
1 Pound of Thick Cut Bacon
1 Cup Cheese (any kind but typically cheddar or havarti)
8oz. Light Cream Cheese
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Garlic Powder to taste
Directions
Pre-heat oven to 425F degrees. Combine cream cheese, cheddar and spices into a bowl and mix well. Scoop even portions of the cheese mixture into each jalapeno half. Ensure each 1/2 is generously filly but not too full.
Wrap each 1/2 in a slice of bacon. We sometimes will also sprinkle a little pepper onto the bacon at this time.
Cover a baking sheet with tinfoil (no need to spray with cooking spray as the bacon provides enough grease). The tinfoil just makes the cleanup that much easier.
Lay the poppers on the baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes or until bacon is fully cooked. Remove from oven and serve immediately. CAUTION they are obviously extremely hot but they are best served right from the oven so be careful!
