Spicy Breaded Shrimp Tacos
I won’t even go into my love for tacos …. I have explained it far too many times in this blog that I am sure you get the picture. Shrimp tacos though are one of the few taco things the Mr. enjoys eating! I don’t blame who… Fresh tacos with Breaded shrimp are amazing! We use our air fryer to cook the shrimp, it makes us feel better about the breaded shrimp and its way easier to clean! For best taste, prep the aioli in the morning or the day before you intend to use the sauce. It allows all the flavors to come together!
Chili Aioli Ingredients
3/4 Cup Mayo
1 Tsp. Evoolution Jalapeno EVOO
2 Tbsp. Sweet Chili Sauce
Breaded Shrimp Ingredients
12-14 Jumbo Shrimp
1 Cup Panko Bread Crumbs
1/2 Cup Flour
1 Egg + 1 Tsp. Evoolution Jalapeno EVOO
1 Tsp. Garlic Powder
1 Tsp. Pepper
1/2 Tsp. Salt
Cooking Spray
Taco Ingredients
Small Whole Wheat Tortillas
2 Cups Coleslaw
1 Tomato, chopped (optional)
1 Avocado, sliced (optional)
1/2 Red Onion, sliced
1/2 Cup Green onion, chopped
Directions
Combine all aioli ingredients together in a bowl, mix well and allow to sit in the fridge for minimally 1-2 hours (ideally overnight).
Devein the shrimp and remove the tails.
You will need 3 separate bowls; fill one bowl with panko, in the second bowl, whisk the egg and paprika together and in the third bowl combine the flour with all the remaining spices.
Dredge each shrimp, one at a time in the flour mixture, then the egg mixture and finally the panko bread crumbs, ensuring they are full covered except the tail. Lay out on a clean plate or board until finished all shrimp. Allow to sit 5 minutes while getting the air fryer ready.
Set the air fryer to 375F degrees for 15 minutes. Spray the pan of the air fryer with cooking spray then lay the shrimp out. Spray the top of the shrimp as well.
Cook for 12-15 minutes or until they are golden brown. Flip the shrimp 1/2 way through the cooking process to ensure all sides are browned evenly.
While the shrimp is cooking, prep all ingredients and dress the tortilla. Remove shrimp from the air fryer, remove the tails and place on top of tortillas with the other ingredients! Squeeze fresh lime juice on top, sprinkle with salt/pepper and serve.
